CPC View ax

CPC View ax is an ActiveX control encapsulating Cartesian's popular CPC View document image viewer. With CPC View ax, developers can embed and control a high performance viewer for documents stored in a variety of document image formats, including TIFF, CALS, JEDMICS, JFAX, and CPC. The viewer supports sophisticated, best-of-breed features such as document navigation, scaling, rotation, anti-aliased images in both a page view and thumbnail view, extensive annotation capabilities, and much more. Installation Options Internet Explorer Use this option to automatically install CPC View ax on this computer using Internet Explorer. Note: This requires that Internet Explorer's security settings allow for the remote installation of ActiveX controls. Windows Installer Use this option to download the Windows MSI installer for CPC View ax. This is useful for bulk installations or for situations in which local security settings preclude automatic installation via Internet Explorer. Manual Installation You can also download the raw CPC View ax OCX file and manually install it. See section 1.2.1 of the online User's Guide for more information. Samples

• Automatic Installation: This page will download and install CPC View ax if it is not already installed on the client's machine. The download will start automatically as soon as the sample page is loaded. The user is not queried as to whether or not to initiate the download.
• On Demand Installation: This page will check to see if CPC View ax is installed on the client's machine. If it is not, it will provide a link to download and install CPC View ax. The page also checks if the installed version of CPC View ax is out-of-date. If it is, it informs the user that an upgrade is available and provides a link to initiate the upgrade.
• Spotlight: A simple example illustrating the use of programmable annotations and event handling. A yellow circular spotlight is displayed over the image. The spotlight follows the mouse as it is moved.
• Pager: This sample uses programmable annotations to add embedded paging controls to a document. The controls are displayed at the top of the page and allow navigation to the next or previous page of the document.
• Quadrant: This sample uses programmable annotations to highlight portions of an image in response to user actions. An image is embedded on the page and a quadrant selector is displayed. When the user selects a quadrant, the corresponding quadrant of the image is highlighted. When the users clicks the mouse within the image, the corresponding quadrant in the quadrant selector is selected.
• DocChanger: This sample demonstrates how to control multiple documents with a single instance of the control. A drop-down list is used to select the particular document to load into the control. The sample also demonstrates the invocation of the Document/Print... and Document/Save As... commands, providing HTML buttons to invoke the commands.

Binaries

• CpcViewAX.cab: The cabinet file used in automatic installation. The cabinet file is automatically downloaded and expanded by Internet Explorer to install the control.
• CpcViewAX.ocx: This is the raw OCX. If you prefer manual installation, you will need this. See section 1.2.1 of the online User's Guide for more information.
• CpcViewAX.msi: A Windows MSI installer for CPC View ax. This is useful for bulk installations or for situations in which local security settings preclude automatic installation via Internet Explorer.

CPC View ax is compatible with Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or later, Microsoft Visual C++ 5.0 or later, and other applications and frameworks supporting ActiveX controls. CPC View ax runs under Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT (V4.0), Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Windows XP, and Windows Vista.
