CPC View Version 5.3 Released
Localization enables further penetration of international markets

Newton, Mass. -- May 10, 1999 -- Cartesian Products, Inc. (http://www.cartesianinc.com) announced the release of version 5.3 of CPC View - the popular web browser plug-in for document images in TIFF, CALS, JEDMICS, and CPC formats. Compatible with all major web browsers, CPC View enhances the online document viewing experience with sophisticated, best-of-breed features such as document navigation, progressive image display, rotation, anti-aliased images in both a page view and thumbnail view, extensive text, graphics, and sound annotation tools, and much more. Version 5.3 is the first release to incorporate Cartesian's DynamicUI technology, which automatically adapts the CPC View user interface to the natural language of the end user. The new release supports fully localized user interfaces for both English and French, with plans to add support for German by the end of 1999 and additional languages to follow in the first half of 2000.

With DynamicUI, international organizations and web sites can deploy a single version of their imaging software world-wide, reducing administrative costs and maintainence hassles. "The DynamicUI technology, in conjunction with the opening of French CPC sites such as Euridile (http://www.euridile.inpi.fr), should dramatically increase our penetration of the French market." said said Stuart M. Shieber, Cartesian's Vice President of Research and Development. "Long-term, our approach of a single multi-lingual executable will give CPC View additional leverage in multi-national enterprise markets, eliminating the maintenance and administrative hassles typically associated with the deployment of multi-lingual software."

The CPC View software family includes CPC Lite, CPC View, and CPC View ax. CPC View is relied upon by hundreds of organizations around the world, including Amoco, Der Spiegel, the FBI, Ford, IBM, Lockheed Martin, Oracle, Renault, Rockwell, Sanyo, and Siemens Nixdorf. Additional information regarding CPC View can be found on the Cartesian web site at http://www.cartesianinc.com/Products/CPCView/.
