Cartesian Perceptual Compression is the state of the art in document
image compression methods. This is not just our own opinion. In fact,
in recent tests by the International Organization for Standardization
(ISO/IEC
JTC 1/SC 29), Cartesian's method was shown to outperform all other compression methods
tested.
Processors and operating systems supported: Runs
interoperably on Intel x86 under Windows and Motorola
680x0, Intel x86, SPARC, and MIPS architectures under UNIX.
Speed: On a Pentium, sub-second per page times are
typical for compression and decompression.
Memory requirements: Runs in a fixed amount of
memory regardless of page size, resolution, document length.
Standard configuration is one megabyte. Smaller
configurations are possible at some loss in compression.
